What is Leadership Sandoval County?

Leadership Sandoval is people committed to enhancing the quality of life in Sandoval County by improving their knowledge of the community and increasing their leadership effectiveness. Associates develop and refine their leadership skills through an intense, nine-month educational experience.

During the program year, these participants explore current challenges facing Sandoval County and learn how to become agents of change. Upon completion, these new members become a part of a network of graduates who keep in touch with each other as they serve on boards and committees across the county.

Our Mission

Leadership Sandoval is an educational program established to ensure a continuum of leadership throughout the county. It provides a multi-disciplinarian forum for exchanging ideas and strategies that will develop and engage leaders who work together to serve the good of Sandoval County. The program will bring together leaders from all sectors and integrate them directly into the arena of community affairs.

“As a participant in the 2021-22 leadership Sandoval County, I hope to convey my appreciation for the information and experiences I have had. Initially, I saw the agenda for each month and felt that these subjects were not applicable to me personally.   As I have experienced each presentation I was not only impressed with the speakers, but realized this is critical information that should be known by the entire community.   I appreciate the networking with other leaders and anticipate continued growth for Sandoval county and myself within it. I do believe in aiming True and remaining passionate for our society as a whole.   Thank you very much.”Robert C. Gallegos, Therapy Supervisor, Lovelace Westside Hospital, LSC Class of 2022

“Leadership Sandoval County is a great experience both professionally and personally.  It is an opportunity to learn about the many aspects of what makes a community including government, education, health and business.  The team projects are a great testimony of how a small group of individuals can make a significant impact for a community, and the friendships and network relationships built in Leadership will continue to be invaluable long after graduation.  I am so glad to have had the opportunity to be a part of something so dynamic and critical to the community. “Lisa Contreras, Audit Manager, PNM Resources, LSC Class of 2022

“The Leadership Sandoval County program went far beyond my expectations.  The classes were well thought out, provided pertinent information, and were well taught by leaders in our community.  In addition, the interaction with fellow business leaders in LSC really expanded my network both professionally and socially.  Our LSC community project was a great learning experience and allowed us to give back to the community.  LSC was a tremendous experience and I cannot stress enough how exceptional this program is.  Many kudos to the LSC staff for their hard work.    I highly recommend LSC! “Stephen Miceli, District Manager, Rio Rancho Landfill/Valencia Landfill, Waste Management, LSC Class of 2022

“Leadership Sandoval County has provided me the opportunity I was looking for to become more connected within my county and community and to gain a better understanding of various aspects of our government and economics.  The speakers and presentations were well thought out, informative, interesting and entertaining.  The LSC program effectively condenses a wide range of information and topics, providing a unique opportunity for future and present leaders in the community to learn more about each other’s industries and specialties.”   Becky Torres, Esq., Lastrapes, Spangler & Pacheco, P.A., LSC Class of 2022

“I have appreciated the Leadership Sandoval County experience. Learning about the challenges facing Sandoval County has helped inform me, as well as providing me with opportunities to make a positive difference. I appreciate the work of Debbi Moore and the leadership team, and it has been enjoyable building relationships with leaders from other business and private sectors.” Paul Martinez, Development Catalyst, Catalyst Church, LSC Class of 2022
